Peasant housing in Latin America: towards the construction of a comprehensive definition

The objective of this article is to approximate elements - theoretical and empirical - that contribute to the construction of a comprehensive definition of peasant housing. The theoretical elements come from social studies of technology and the territorial perspective, while the empirical ones come from a series of case studies on peasant housing in different countries of Latin America. In light of what the theoretical proposal allows us to understand, aspects repeatedly pointed out in the case studies consulted were identified, grouped and organized, and a comprehensive definition - open and unfinished - of Latin American peasant housing was arrived at, affirming the importance of that it be approached from own non-urban centered compression frameworks.
