Thermodynamic of reversible, invertible and irreversible reactions

摘要
In this work we make a net distinction between reversible and invertible reactions and, also, between those which are invertible and irreversible. We found that the difference between Gibbs energy at equilibrium state, G(eq), and at the initial state, G(i), of the reactants, that is Delta G = G(eq) - G(i), can be considered a thermodynamic quantity which shows if the initial state is in the neighborhood of the equilibrium or, on the contrary, far from equilibrium. If the difference is small, i.e., Delta G = G(eq) - G(i) congruent to -RT, then the reactions are reversible. If the difference has a high negative value, Delta G = G(eq) - G(i) <<-RT, the reactions are irreversible.
