Power consumption model in two-tiered wireless sensor networks

摘要
In practical applications of Wireless sensor networks (WSN), since sensors are generally constrained in on-board energy supply, power-efficient management of the network is crucial to extend the lifetime of the sensors and the analysis on power consumption is its key issue. This paper has proposed an analysis based on two-tiered structure, which is more and more popular. Current power analyses make the power consumption between the Cluster-head sensor node (CHSN) and the Base station (BS) an approximation to the whole network's power consumption. We verify the feasibility of the approximating approach through results of simulation ignoring handling factor, setup the power consumption model considering the factor and reach several conclusions on the factor, providing theoretical bases and experimental foundations for future research.
