ECODESIGN METHODOLOGY APPLIED IN THE PRODUCT CONCEPTUAL DESIGN STAGE

摘要
The environmental impact of a product is assessed in all the stages of a product life cycle. The results of such a procedure should lead to improved solutions implemented on existing or future products. Usually, these improvements are introduced as restrictions in the embodiment design stage of the design process. In this paper, a methodology that involves the conceptual design stage is being developed. Including the environmental restrictions in this early stage will lead to an environmentally friendlier principle of solution. This will be produced in respect of system inputs and outputs, no matter if they are intended ones or are only estimated side effects.
