摘要
Expectant mothers develop thoughts and feelings of love for their unborn child to different extents. Little is known about how the quality of this mother-fetus attachment is related to postnatal mother-infant interactions. In the present study, we found that mothers who report a higher quality of prenatal maternal attachment were more sensitive and more stimulating in interaction with their six-month-old infants. They also displayed more positive feelings and less flatness of affect. Based on these preliminary findings, acknowledgement and assessment of prenatal feelings and expectations may be recommended in infant health care services.
