ATTITUDES OF PUPILS TOWARDS OLYMPIC IDEALS AND FAIR PLAY IN THE CONTEXT OF OLYMPIC EDUCATION

摘要
In aim of the study was to ascertain the attitude of the pupils of schools participating and non-participating in the programme of Olympic education towards Olympic ideals and Fair Play. The sample consisted of 2335 adolescents between ages of 13 and 18 years. 1186 pupils from the schools participating in the programme of the Olympic education and accordingly 1149 from those not participating in this programme. The attitude of the pupils towards Olympic ideals and Fair Play was assessed by using the Olympic Ideal Questionnaire (Telama et al., 2002). The results of the research revealed the links between the pupils' attitude towards Olympic ideals. There were statistically significant differences comparing the attitudes of the pupils of schools participating and non-participating in the programme of Olympic educations towards such Olympic factors as Social Virtues of Olympism and Human Values of Olympism. There were no statistically significant differences comparing their attitudes towards Fair Play in total, excepting differences between girls.
