Towards a systems methodology for object-oriented software analysis

摘要
Although the Unified Process for software development is regarded as an important advancement in software engineering practice, it also shows several deficiencies. Especially, for analysis of embedded systems, where the main task is to capture the dynamic behavior of the system, the classical Unified Process does not provide much help. This paper presents several improvements and extensions of the Unified Process which originated from a systems theory background. In particular, it gives guidelines how to define and describe use cases, proposes a general architecture for embedded systems, and shows how to build information models as abstractions of dynamic processes.
