A linguistic approach to analysing the translation of the literary text: The problem of the past tenses in French and the terms of "naturalization" and "hybridization"

The author analyses the French past historic and perfect tenses in the translation of the literary text. Based on the semantic field of the definitions of "naturalization" and "hybridization", the author explains the functioning of these tenses in the literary text. Both tenses are characterized by their basic invariant (aspect-temporal) function, which can be linked in terms of translation with the naturalization process; one can also talk about nativization. Furthermore, the author also observes a secondary stylistic function and perceives it through the concept of hybridization, since the expression of such use requires more complex translation solutions.
