摘要
Combined anti-retroviral treatments in some HIV infected patients do not lead to a rapid increase in CD4 counts and these patients may remain susceptible to opportunistic infections. A group of thirteen patients with < 200 CD4/mm(3) after at least 9 months of combined anti-retroviral treatment received IL-2 immunotherapy (4.5 10(6) IU twice daily for 5 days every 6 weeks). After only a few IL-2 cycles, most of the patients reach CD4 counts above 200/mm(3), i.e. considered to be protective against opportunistic infections.
