Studies with an interest to variables from environmental psychology as workplace attachment in the study of organizational behavior are still in their infancy. The objective of this article is to combine these three concepts in a causal approach to examine the nature of their relationship. An empirical study was conducted on a sample of 118 employees. The data show that the workplace attachment predicts helping behavior. The regression analyses allow us observing the mediating role of workplace attachment on the relationship between affective and normative commitments and helping behavior. The theoretical and managerial implications of the results of this research are discussed.
