The open watch and do treatment of the deviated nose

Treatment of the deviated nose is still a difficult problem to resolve even today. The deviated nose, characterized by marked deviation of the axis nasi towards the mid-sagittal plane, presents a highly variable distorsion of both osteocartilaginous septal and nasal structures. The A.A. present their clinical experiences of correction of the "deviated nose" through an "open" surgical approach. Close intra-operative study of the anatomic, morphologic and structural alteration of each osteocartilaginous nasal component is very important. In fact, the structural alterations and consequent displacements are often so serious that accurate and precise pre-operative evaluation is very difficult.
