An X-band Oblique Polarized Antenna Array

An X-band oblique polarized array is designed and manufactured, the scan range is positive negative 45deg. The antenna choose the printed dipole antenna. By using a short-circuited probe balun and adding a parasitic patch on the top of the dipole, the bandwidth of it is extended to be whole X-band. The antenna is improved to be double plates with two face radiation dipoles and a lot of metallization holes to close the balun radiation, which could reduce the difference between the horizontal polarization patterns and the vertical polarization patterns when wide-angle scan. The array is measured and the results show it can achieve X-band 45deg scan work.
