According to grain production data and drought disaster data from 1978 to 2009 in Henan Province, five indicators reflecting the level of drought were calculated: disaster-affected and suffering area rates, anomaly indices of disaster-affected and suffering area rates the ratio of disaster-affected to suffering areas; By analyzing the inter-annual variation of the indicators and variation of grain yield, and by researching the relationship between the indicators and grain yield, the main indicators affecting grain yield were got. The results show that: The disaster happened almost every year, agricultural droughts appear alternatively in a cycle of about 6-7years. The relationship between the annual gradient of total grain yield, yield per unit area and disaster-affected and suffering area rates, anomaly indices of disaster-affected and suffering area rates, the ratio of disaster-affected to suffering areas is significant negative correlation respectively. In all the indices of agricultural drought disaster, the influences of disaster-affected and suffering area rates, the ratio of disaster-affected to suffering areas on grain yields are more significant than others. In particular, the rates of disaster-suffering area are the most significant.
