In recent years we have noticed a growing interest in the topic of "human rights" and the theoretical references that explain and define it, while discussions in specific fields have proliferated. In the area of music education, we can affirm that the debates have contemplated various angles of approach, ranging from the discussion of the concept and the theoretical referents that support it, to its connection with technological innovation or the connection between music, social transformation arid sustainable development. This essay is about a reflection on these themes and how much human rights have been present in our music education praxis. It is advocated that actions in music education, in the social scenario, should be configured as another field that preserves and guarantees human rights, considering them as an essential dimension in professional work and interactions with life and
