Non-linear dynamic analysis for existing masonry structures according to Eurocode 8

摘要
In this paper a simplified method for non-linear dynamic analysis of masonry buildings with rigid floor diaphragms is proposed, considering the vertical and in-plane response of the walls. The relevant feature of the method resides in a unique-kind of macro-element, suitable to modelling the mechanical behaviour of the building plain masonry walls. The analysis will be conducted by a direct numerical "step-by-step" integration of its differential equations of motion, (treated beforehand to reduce in number and to uncouple these equations). The results of the analysis are: i) the time history of floor displacements under an arbitrarily prescribed direction of the resulting horizontal seismic action evaluated according to the Eurocode 8 provisions as well as under the current vertical forces; ii) the seismic resistance of the building.
