Numerical investigation of the effect of the high-lift configuration of a transport aircraft on its vortex wake

摘要
A numerical investigation, based on the Euler equations, of the nearfield wake vortex of four high-lift configurations of a narrow body airliner is carried out. The main focus is to study to what extent the configurations meet a criterion for the accelerated destruction of wake vortices proposed by Rennich/Lele. Additionally a spatial direct numerical simulation of the wake up to 35 spans is presented for the airliner model in standard landing configuration.
