摘要
Partial discharge (PD) activity in electric insulation has previously been found to be an indicator of the status of the insulation aging and thus provides a possible means for estimating its remaining life. A location procedure that evaluates the acoustic emission (AE) data measured at two fixed locations on an energized generator stator bar is presented. A systems based approach is applied to develop a model of acoustic energy propagation in the starer bar. Correlation techniques are applied to the data, and information relating to the number of paths measured during the test is extracted. Additionally, the location of PD activity is evaluated from the AE correlation data.
