On the influence of ionizing radiation on concrete - state of the art

摘要
The problem of ionizing radiation on concrete shields was examined already several decades years ago, for example Hilsdorf et al. in 1978, which however, because of foreseen then period of reactors exploitation 30 to 40 years should not have important meaning. Currently exploited and build nuclear power plant will be in exploitation probably during 60-80 years, thus the influence of irradiation on microstructure and properties of concrete shields needs the profound studies. These works undertaken in the last decade in USA, Japan and other countries the hazard of concrete degradation after action of certain irradiation level are showing and the microstructure changes and expansion of concrete could in high degree decrease the tightness and strength of the shields for the foreseen period of reactors exploitation. The similar problem can also touch the storage yard of radioactive waste.
