This paper considers the (J,J')-lossless factorization for descriptor systems. We extend the notion of the conjugation proposed by Kimura to descriptor systems based on a generalized algebraic Riccati equation (GARE). We show that the existence condition of the (J,J')-lossless factorization is given in terms of two GAREs, and derive a descriptor form formula for the (J, J')-lossless factorization.
