摘要
We report far-infrared transmission measurements of eta-Mo4O11 at temperatures above and below the two charge-density-wave (CDW) transitions at 109 and 35 K. We analyze the exotic splitting patterns of the vibrational features in terms of the nature of the structural distortions, Data on Y-Mo4O11 is also shown to compare with the eta-phase material. Preliminary far-infrared reflectance spectra of eta-Mo4O11 taken in the presence of an external magnetic field is also presented.
