摘要：

DICOM CDs have rapidly replaced film as an image exchange medium. Practical at first sight, it turns out that handling and viewing CDs proves to be inconvenient in a busy patient consultation. We have setup a system to import CDs of outpatients in PACS as soon as possible. Images on CD then become part of the normal workflow: during outpatient consultation clinicians can view the images directly in the clinical PACS viewer. The system to import CDs is very straightforward and requires minimal training.
