Analysis and assessment of output increase contribution rate in construction industry of China

摘要:
This paper analyzes the development of construction industry of China in 1981-2003 using a mathematical model of Solow increasing equation based on the thought of productive functions. The results show that the output of the construction industry enhanced significantly during the observation period with annual increasing rate 20.93%. Investment of fixed assets contributed most part of the output increasing. Its influence increased over time and reached 93.67% in 2003. On the other hand, labour input seems have no contribution on the output increase. The rest contribution came from technological progress with a rate 6.33% in 2003. The study concludes that the increasing of construction industry in China is still in input-driven model. It is hoped to change into efficiency-driven model in the future.
