Phase relations of the Ag2SnS3-HgS and Ag33.3Sn16.7Se/Te/50-HgSe/Te section in Ag-Hg-Sn-S/Se,Te systems

摘要
The phase equilibria of the Ag2SnS3-HES and Ag33.3Sn16.7Se/Te/(5)-HgSe/Te/ sections of quaternary Ag-Hg-Sn-S/Se,Te/ systems have been investigated by differential-thermal X-ray phase and microstructural analyses. The Ag2SnS3-HgS section is quasi-binary with the formation of the quaternary Ag2HgSnS4 compound which melts congruently at 933 K. The phase Ag2HgSnSe4 melting congruently at 830 K, and a novel phase forming incongruently at 839 K, were found in the Ag33.3Sn16.7Se50-HgSe section. The Ag33.3Sn16.7Te50-HgTe section is nonquasi-binary without formation of quaternary phases. The investigated systems are compared with analogous copper-containing systems.
