A novel technique for image boundary detection

Boundary detection is one of the important feature that will be extremely useful for the purpose of recognition, In this paper, a simple technique for image boundary detection is proposed based on the gradient value along the principal curvature directions. The principal orthogonal elements is determined using Seong Whan Lee & Young Joon Kim method. We assume that the regions in question are sufficiently homogeneous so that the transition between two regions can be determined on the basis of gray level discontinuities alone. For real life images with noise & other side effects, this method may be followed by edge linking algorithms.
