摘要
Based on the theory of agglomeration economies, the paper probes the mechanism that the basic services agglomerate in different areas in metropolis. The argument that the producer services agglomerate in the center area in metropolis is not accurate. The density and structure of agglomeration of the social and economic factors is different in different areas, so the polycentric spatial structure would be formed in metropolis. The basic services including the service industries with high correlation and knowledge intensive service industries would be located in areas with larger agglomeration economies in metropolis, because their development depends on the urban agglomeration economies. The above conclusion can be proved by the empirical study on the location of the basic service industries in Beijing.
