摘要
A co-rotational formulation of a quadrilateral 8-node co-rotational plane element is presented for geometric nonlinear analysis of structures; the reference coordinate system is different from other studies. Element tangent stiffness matrix is asymmetric, and a nonlinear finite element iteration procedure is also established by the Newton-Raphson technique, and a corresponding program NTP was completed. A cantilever beam with a single concentrated load at the end is employed to examine its accuracy, and the computation results are in good agreement with the results of the references. It is concluded that, the deduced element could be helpful and suitable to deal with the similar issues.
