Design of radio status management system for high speed wireless mobile terminal

摘要
In this paper, we present a design of Radio Status Monitor(RSM) System based on multiple mode or switchable high speed wireless mobile terminal for internet access considering SDR(Software Defined Radio) technology. The need for high speed internet services in a mobile environment increases rapidly, but the existing cellular system has provided mobility based on voice communication, although recently comparatively low speed, high cost, data communication method is provided, but it is not sufficient for user requirements. WLAN (Wireless Lan) communication system is high speed and low cost but it provides just only local service in hot spot area without mobility. There are many efforts for developing dual mode or multiple mode Modem for communication with various wireless environments based on user requirement. For the effective high speed wireless mobile internet access, it is necessary to have radio status monitoring system for adequate switching between cellular and Wireless Lan system.
