摘要
Aiming at the defect of radar coverage given by manufacturing factories, a new method of characterizing radar's air surveillance coverage is proposed, the projection range of the furthest detection point for different RCS target at different altitudes, which can directly show radar's quick response to the attraction launched by fighter. Then the calculating method is given, and air surveillance coverage of an typical medium-low altitude air surveillance radar is calculated, the calculating result indicates that, the radar is not good at detecting fighters which approach at high altitude or at the altitude below 300 meters, especially for detecting stealth fighters which approach at high altitude.
