摘要
Distributed renewable power generation has the potential to reduce the inefficiency of the centralised generation scheme. However, the intermittent nature of the renewable power presents an obstacle which will need to be overcome to see its widespread integration. One solution is demand side control, matching load with production to maximise the use of the renewable power source. In this paper, a control system for a single home with a photovoltaic installation is presented. This "nanogrid" manipulates the thermal autonomy of appropriate loads, implementing instantaneous control with the use of the maximum power point tracking signal. The system is modelled and simulated for a week to observe the benefits. The result is a control system that can reduce power purchased from an external source by approximately 21%.
