Electroreduction of niobium oxyfluoride complexes in the NaCl-KCl melt

摘要
The electrochemical behavior of monoxyfluoride, dioxyfluoride, and trioxyfluoride niobium complexes in the NaCl-KCl melt is studied. The diffusion coefficients for the NbOF63- complexes are determined. Solubility of niobium oxyfluoride compounds in equimolar mixture of chlorides of sodium and potassium is found to diminish upon shifting from monoxyfluoride to trioxyfluoride compounds. The electrochemical deposition of the KNbO2F phase at the cathode is shown to be feasible.
