High Energy Density Li-Ion Batteries with ALD Multi-Functional Modified LiCoO2 Cathode

摘要
Here we present a novel approach to develop a high voltage, high energy density LiCoO2 (HV-LCO) with a robust cycle life performance via atomic layer deposition (ALD) of multi-functional material coatings on LCO. Our results project that a resultant battery system using HV-LCO will possess a great potential to significantly increase specific energy without sacrificing high voltage cycle stability and with a competitive cost advantage in terms of price per energy.
