摘要
The objective of this work was to study wet peroxide oxidation (WPO) and catalytic wet oxidation (CWO) for treating antibiotic wastewater. Experiments were performed in a 0.6-1 batch reactor at 350 degrees C. More than 80% chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal from antibiotic wastewater was achieved by CWO using FeCl3 as catalyst. Homogenous catalyst, CoCl2 and MnCl2 also showed good catalytic activity for treating antibiotic wastewater. Greater than 90% COD removal was achieved using WPO. Significantly more COD could be removed from antibiotic wastewater by adding H2O2 in small doses. The results showed that WPO was a more effective and feasible process for removing organic compounds from antibiotic wastewater.
