Effects of reaging 2024-T3 and 7075-T6 aluminium alloys on the microstructure and mechanical properties

摘要
Low temperature, long time reaging effects on 2024-T3 and 7075-T6 aluminum alloys were investigated for microstructural and mechanical property changes. The microstructure was examined using high magnification scanning electron microscopy along with regular optical microscopy. The properties explored were microhardness, electrical conductivity, and basic material strength and ductility. Correlations between the microstructure and the mechanical properties are made with respect to the complexities of the microscopy.
