Application of Topology Analysis Results for Fault Location, Isolation and Service Restoration

摘要
Together with technical improvements and innovative solutions in distribution management systems, the standards for reliability and quality of services have been also raised on a higher level. One of the most challenging requirements to accomplish these standards is to minimize the outage impact to the customers by reducing the total interruption time and the number of affected customers. In order to have an efficient response to detected faults, fault location, isolation, and service restoration (FLISR) must be automated to do all required tasks without manual intervention. Topology data and topology functions are a fundamental and indispensable source of information for automated FLISR functions. In this paper is shown how a wide set of topology information provides FLISR functions possibility to have many powerful features that help to reduce interruption duration.
