Federal Funding for Utilities (FedFUNDS) is USEPA's newest and most comprehensive disaster funding tool for utilities. The tool was developed based on water utility experiences with disaster funding and state and federal agencies that operate disaster funding programs. A web-based tool, FedFUNDS provides tailored information and application forms in one place for utilities to facilitate access to various federal disaster funding programs. It addresses national level disasters that result in service interruptions and significant damage to the critical water/wastewater infrastructure. FedFUNDS is designed to enable utilities to quickly find the information they need and is divided into five major sections. There are links to fillable forms and photologs to document damage and determine the costs of emergency repair so that the utility has the data to apply later for disaster funding. In addition, USEPA published a fact sheet titled Reimbursement Tips for Water Sector Emergency Response and Recovery.
