ENERGY CONSUMPTION EVALUATION IN SEWAGE TREATMENT BASED ON GREY RELATIONAL ANALYSIS

Sewage treatment is one of the most energy-intensive industries. Energy consumption of the wastewater treatment is related to various factors. Grey relational analysis is used to evaluate the energy consumption of the pilot scale experiment in modified A(2)O process, which was designed for wastewater with low carbon, high nitrogen and phosphorus in South China. The modified process conducted five different operation conditions between May to October in 2014. Several factors related to the sewage treatment process including water inflow, average sludge return ratio, average mixed liquid return ratio, hydraulic retention time (HRT), the system total sludge age are selected as evaluation indexes. Results of grey relational analysis is consistent with the real operation condition, which indicates that grey relational analysis can be used as an effective tool to estimate the efficient of different operation conditions.
