Research on Multicast Strategy in DiffServ Networks

摘要
Focus on the problems such as scalability, neglected reservation sub-tree (NRS) and heterogeneous multicast group, which combine the differentiated service and multicast, we propose Differentiated Service (DiffServ) multicast strategy based on distributed resource management (MSD) in this paper. MSD adopts the distributed resource management manner which needs edge nodes to manage the resource in DiffServ domain, and the new member which requests to join multicast group can take legitimate priority only by checking through; meanwhile, it adopts the receiver-driven idea to establish a QoS request signal mechanism, and uses re-marking method to make the forwarding nodes know the new member' QoS requests clearly. We present simulation studies about MSD on NS2, the result indicates that MSD can effectively solve DiffServ multicast problems.
