Combiner duplexer reduces cost in AMPS PCS co-location

HARDWARE costs may be considerable when adding 1800-MHz personal-communications-services (PCS) capability to an existing 800-MHz Advanced Mobile Phone Service (AMPS) network. Fortunately, the model AFD-21A-8020-01 combiner/duplexer filter from L-3 Communications (Folsom, CA), significantly reduces the costs and complexity of this additional capability by enabling service providers: to use a single wideband antenna and existing 800-MHz feedlines to cover 800- and 1900-MHz bands. The AFD-21A-8020-01 does this by providing better performance than conventional power-combining techniques.
