Preparation of Magnesium Chrome Spinel Powders in Molten Salt

摘要
MgCr2O4 powders were synthesized using NaCl-KCl molten salts as reaction materials, CaCO3, MgCl2 center dot 6H(2)O, and Cr2O3 as reaction materials. They were studied by TG-DSC, XRD, SEM. The results showed that MgO precursors were formed by CaCO3 reacted with MgCl2 center dot 6H(2)O at 800 degrees C. MgCr2O4 products were finally synthesized by MgO precursors and Cr2O3 materials in NaCl-KCl molten salts which of octahedral morphology. They degree of crystallinity were increased with the growth of heated temperature and calcined time.
