摘要
Among the various constraints for rural industrialisation, improper energy supply system is one of the major constraint. Presently, conventional energy sources such as coal, petroleum products, electricity are used as energy sources, which are totally non-renewable and non-local. Supply of these sources of energy are highly irregular, costly and limited, hence they are unreliable. If regular supply of energy is ensured along with other facilities, rural economy may again flourish. This needs a systematic approach for rural industrialisation based on supply of raw materials and energy from locally available resources This system of rural industrialisation can be sustainable because of people's participation in the system, income generation for meeting other needs and providing employment to the rural people. On the other hand it would be cost effective as well as eco-friendly as locally available resources are to be used only.
