Measuring weak polarization

The observational and instrumental aspects of small polarization measurements that have been made by the Zurich group during recent years are described. These measurements include a high spectral resolution polarimetric survey of the "second solar spectrum" as well as full vector polarimetric studies in distinct spectral lines. A brief overview of the polarimetric system is given. In particular it is show how high sensitive polarimetric recordings may be obtained even with small and/or strongly polarizing telecopes.
