摘要
This paper proposes a method of designing reinforced concrete elements subject to transient loading based upon closed solutions of approximate mathematical models of the structure. The approximations in the model relate to the way in which the reinforced concrete element is idealized, and also to the way in which the load/time history of the element is simplified, The paper offers expressions for the parameters required to apply an elastic/plastic technique to reinforced concrete, Furthermore, the presence of damping, which is often ignored in simple dynamic models, is also included here, Calibration of the proposed model to existing test results and sophisticated nonlinear finite-element methods illustrates excellent correlation.
