Doppler ultrasonography of the arcuate arteries of the kidney in capuchin monkeys (Cebus libidinosus)

摘要：
Our objective in this study was to evaluate, using Doppler ultrasonography, the velocimetric characteristics of the arcuate arteries in kidneys of adult capuchin monkeys. Doppler velocimetric values were evaluated: resistive index (IR), pulsatility index (IP), peak systolic velocity (VPS) and end diastolic velocity (VDF) in both kidneys. The mean and standard deviation values obtained for the right kidney and left kidney, respectively, were: IR (0,56 +/- 0,06 and 0,58 +/- 0,04), IP (0,92 +/- 0,16 and 0,94 +/- 0,18), VPS (0,20 +/- 0,05 and 0,20 +/- 0,06) and VDF (0,08 +/- 0,03 e 0,08 +/- 0,03). Doppler ultrasonography proved an efficient, non invasive and fast method for evaluation of kidney arcuate arteries in capuchin monkeys. Further studies should be performed to favor the application of this technique in clinical wildlife practice.
