摘要
Due to a number of benefits, share of renewable energy based generation is increasing rapidly. However, intermittent behavior of renewable energy is challenging to keep the frequency stable; specially in isolated microgrids. Deploying battery energy storage system (BESS) in microgrid could be helpful to lessen such frequency excursion problems. This paper investigates the effect of various placement strategies of BESS in an isolated renewable integrated microgrid. BESS has been placed in centralized as well as in distributed manner throughout the test microgrid. Results show that, in comparison to centralized placement, distributed placement of BESS offers better frequency response with events such as large load connection.
