摘要
Before 1989, Romania was one of the countries that produced and used or exported great amount of pesticides. On industrial sites important, the active compounds have been stored in warehouses and important quantities of by-product were disposed outdoor. After some of the pesticides were banned by Stockholm Convention, they remained for years in storage, inside or outside, so we can called the historic contamination of the sites. One of these compounds is hexachloro-cyclohexane (HCH), a Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) representing an issue of concern in Romania both for the environment and public health protection. The research has been carried out in a historically contaminated site from the south of Romania.
