摘要
Vehicle energy consumption and carbon dioxide (CO2) emission can be reduced by vehicle mass reduction and powertrain efficiency improvement; this has been the traditional approach for many past decades. However, because of recent stricter CO2 and fuel economy mandates across the globe, the conventional approach is no longer adequate. As a result, vehicle electrification is gaining traction. © 2013 IEEE.
