Acousto-optic scattering in a single-mode optic fibre

摘要：
We analyze Maxwell equations for light propagation ill cylindrical waveguide acousto-optically modulated by plane elastic wave. Using the small parameter of acousto-optic interaction we obtain the dispersion equation explicitly through matrix determinant. Numeric analysis of this determinant reveals the band-gap structure of the spectrum. We also discuss the regime where light propagating in a fibre radiates into the cladding.
