IMPLEMENTATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND ITS EFFECTS. CASE STUDY AT THE VIE VIN VINJU MARE COMPANY

The performances obtained in the field of environment management depend on the exploitation of the new knowledge sources. These sources represent a key element if we desire a decrease in the scientific discrepancy between Romania and the European Union regarding the environmental protection economy. A sustainable economy is an economy in which resource management is a rational one, not sacrificing the environment, but preserving it. In Romania, industry, agriculture, tourism do not participate in building a sustainable economy, an economy that brings prosperity and jobs without sacrificing the environment and natural resources. According to the definition, an Environmental management system (EMS) is a management of an organisation environmental programs in a comprehensive, systematic, planned and documented manner. It includes the organizational structure, planning and resources for developing, implementing and maintaining policy for environmental protection. An EMS offers a structured way to incorporate environmental considerations into day-to-day operations; it promotes continual improvement of the environment and human health. An EMS can also manage natural resources, and improve the reliability and credibility of the environmental policies. The aim of this paper is to do an environmental impact analysis since the introduction of EMS in Romania.
