Cultivation of the EPC fish cell line in serum free media supplemented with honeybee royal jelly (preliminary paper)

摘要
Honeybee royal (Apis mellifera) jelly contains some factors that could be used for cultivating animal cell cultures in serum free media (minimal essential medium - MEM with Hank's salt). The growth stimulating activity of the EPC fish cell line after subcultivation in serum free media supplemented with crude royal jelly solution was obtained. The addition of crude royal jelly to serum free media, instead of Foetal Bovine Serum (Foetal Bovine Serum FBS) significantly stimulated the proliferation and growth of EPC cells.
