Primary renal lymphoma in a dog: case report

The primary renal tumors are uncommon in dogs, being more frequent metastases of melanoma, hemangiosarcoma, carcinoma and lymphoma. This is a lymphoid neoplasm of multifactorial origin, resulting from the malignant transformation of lymphocytes. Extranodal lymphoma is rare and can affect various organs, including kidneys. The purpose of this report is to describe the case of a canine, female, pit bull breed, with six years of age, with an expansive process in the right kidney, served in the Department of Surgery Hospital of Veterinary Medicine, Federal University of Bahia. Given the histopathologic characteristics and the lack of involvement of other sites we confirmed the diagnosis of primary renal lymphoma.
